On the 18th, which is when the SOPA blackout will be, we should upload, remix, and view as many project as we can to protest SOPA. The next curator, who is lapras27, can curate protest SOPA projects. That way, all the front page projects (other than SDS) can be protest SOPA!
I know we're already uploading projects to protest, but on the 18th, let's go crazy!
Who's with me? Post below
Good idea, but the website might be closed on the 18th in protest.
And...

No, I think that is a pretty accurate statement. All they hear is the movie industry saying "A few people are stealing our movies online, we're only making 99 million dollar profits, not 100 million dollar profits."
Therefore, they will attempt to cause havoc shutting down huge sites because one andom person posted links for copyrighted material.
Is s.97 PIPA or something?
NOOOOO SOOOPAAAAAAA
SOPA should stand for
"Stupid Online unPractical Act"

I will definitely help with the protest!! I already have a project about it and it is already 1st top remixed!!
To the people saying it won't help:
1. Like schusteralex2 said, MIT has a lot of influence
2. But.. the Scratch team might not do anything unless they see that many members support the protest.
3. Encourage people to write to their Representatives and Senators!! I wrote to both and I told them about how the people on scratch were outraged over this. If enough people write to them, we CAN make a difference.
4. The more sites that go in protest will add to the distrust and dislike of S.O.P.A., making it more likely that it will get voted down.
To the people saying that it doesn't need any more protesting:
1: The more protesting the better! You can't have too much protesting!
2. It is true that SOPA has recieved a lot of controversy and is likely not to pass. However, while the public attention is focused on SOPA, PIPA is recieving lots of support and not very many protesters.
All in all, SOPA and PIPA both need to be stopped, and I will do whatever I can to help.

Moderator note: Originally a separate topic labeled "S.O.P.A. In different languages"
Some of the translations are actually pretty funny!!
DISCLAIMER: I used google translate, so don't hate me if some of the translations are wrong.
Here they are:
SOPA means:
Azerbaijani- a beating
Croatian- šop
Filipino- sofa
Galician- soup
Icelandic- sweeping
Romanian- whisper
Slovenian- cluster
Swedish- sweep
Spanish- Soup
Discuss funny messed up translations and why you hate S.O.P.A.

Alright so those who are going to help.
REMIX, VIEW, AND UPLOAD AS MANY SOPA/PIPA protest projects as you can!! I want at least hundreds from each of us and me! Make different accounts just so you can upload the same project on a diff. acount

SOLAR SOPAS
I was reading this thread while tinychatting with friends. I then proceeded to read the first page of Hivebent, replacing "sweep" with "SOPA".

I think it makes people look desperate, but if that's how you feel then alright

I am particularly fond of Galician and Spanish translations.
Something about them just . . . I don't know.

Alright, put your name below if you are going to upload, remix, view, and create as many SOPA projects as you can tomorrow!
