Did SOPA not pass? Or did it, and the Attorney General decided to take them down?

Protect Intellectual Property Act, the Senate SOPA counterpart and the one of the two most likely to pass with the other following.

Or not.
You wouldn't find anything that explains them as deeply as this video does.

Yeah, the day is over by now, and also the banner was removed several hours ago.
I was there when they put the banners and featured projects on, and I was there when they took the three banners and three featured projects off.

It may not pass, and even if it does then it'll be vetoed and have to go back and be passed again by 2/3

He can't. He can veto it but it can be passed by a 2/3 majority.

Not exactly, your reply kind of makes it somewhat misleading as if it doesn't sound like the veto is being overidden. Just because a bill is vetoed doesn't mean that it will necessarily go back to Congress in order to pass by a 2/3 vote.
When a president vetoes a bill, the president is pretty much saying "no" to the bill, which suggests that it should be revised. This sends the bill back to Congress, and Congress may continue to revise the bill until both the executive (president) and legislative (Congress) branch agree on the bill (in other words, back to square one)
Overriding a veto means that Congress can find a way to ignore a president's suggestion for revision - they won't need to change the bill at all. So overriding a veto isn't good in this case (especially considering that there's probably enough support to do so); should PIPA pass, we would want Congress to honor the veto and go back and revise the bill instead.
