I recently spent HOURS working on my Christmas siggie, but decided not to put my name on it, thinking no one would bother stealing it. However, I recently saw someone (not naming names) using it in their sig, and I was wondering if this is against the Community Guidelines or something?
I'd prefer it if a mod or a member or the Scratch Team answered, but anyone can answer.

Nope, nothing against stealing sigs. I did it for a week, used someone else's every day. Without their permission. ;D

I'm not a big fan of duplicate siggies either, it makes identifying users confusing at times.
I don't think we have a precedent about siggies (maybe it's something the ST should look into at some point?). You can try asking politely to the user to have the sig changed or removed.

Thanks for the reply.
It's not so much that they used it, just that they didn't think to ask me, and that they didn't give me credit. I'd have happily said yes if they'd done that!
And I know what you mean about it being confusing, it was sooooo confusing when everyone was swapping sigs for a joke!

There's no rule against it but if they are doing it deliberately to make you angry then you can report it.

I don't think he/she was doing it to deliberately make me angry (not that I am angry).

Ah yes, when "cheddargirl" didn't sound very modlike. In fact, they sounded very much like me! XD

Read my post in the suggestion you posted, I can't be bothered to repeat myself!
And is it really THAT good?!
