Hi, I'm Sparky08 and I'm new to forums and to 3D Building, but I was curious if it's possible to make a totally 3D game, with full color, sorta like Mario 64, or all those other 3D plat former games, if there is I would love to know, also, since this is my first ever 3D project, are there any scripts that are advised to use? My friend Puppypaw(?), Nicklvsgames, and I are going to make a big RPG 3D game, so I was curious about if scratch is capable of total 3D enviroments and stuff, and how much data it can hold, if you can help me, that'd be great! (+ I'm giving credit to everyone who want's to help. Also, is there any save scripts?)

It's not possible to make true 3d, but you can make simulations. Try searching 3d engine on the site.

Aw, darn... Oh well. But thanks for helping!

What he's saying is that scratch isnt meant to handle true 3d objects, however Using pen blocks, an old method of generating 3d objects can be re-created. Research "raycasting"

No. See array-based ray casters. That's the same method some of old(ish) professionally made video games use, including (I think) DOOM, Wolfenstein, and a few others of the like.

So how does that make 3D not possible?

Okay, I'll try that, but could you add color and move around in it?

No, sorry. Scratch isn't developed to nor does it have the capability of producing real 3D. However, like another poster said, it is possible to make simulations.

Scratch is too basic to manage that, but as everyone else said there is simulations which rotate and resize sprites to give the illusion of 3d. Kind of like a technique known as mode 7 which nintendo used in the 90's for some games on the snes.

I'm not sure what you all mean by a 'simulation' of 3D, all games are a 'simulation' of 3D to some extent. The only true 3D things are actual objects in the real world. If you want an example of 3D, where the 3D is drawn properly and accurately, look at the project in my signature. Whilst still simulation, it's a lot more powerful than most methods.
Just remember all games are trying to simulate 3D, scratch can do it as well, but you have to write the functionality to do this.

Umm... no computer is capable of producing real 3D. Most can simulate it though.

Exactly.

You won't be able to do anything at fast enough speed to make it worthwhile, have good enough graphics for it to be worthwhile and more so no.

For a true 3D environment you need 3D graphics libraries,
start with http://Alice.org
Check my featured gallery for 3D projects with Scratch...

If you feel like programming a way of storing 3D models, and then rendering them given a camera position, all in Scratch, sure, you can. It's possible, but ridicolously hard and potentally very laggy.
