Now, I know most of us know there is a 150 pixel limit on signatures. SOme people like this, some people hate it. My suggestion is, there should be a setting where you choose how long you want to see. I think it would be fairly easy to make.
Example:
What do you think?

Definitely agree!

Agreed! I dislike scrolling through pages of signatures. Nice idea!

You know you can turn sigs off, right?

Fairly easy?
Have you ever programmed something before?
To limit a part of the page where everything is defined in code is hard bro.
You can just cut off part of a signature when loading the page.
That would require a big load of code.

I agree, but, as fg123 said, it's hard. I tried using Firebug (just for fun) to see if I could hide sigs after 50 pixels, but that was HARD. I just couldn't do it. If the Scratch team at MIT could manage it, then, perhaps.

They already have it so it cuts off at 150 though. They could just make it a setting for each user.

I do program some, I haven't looked at the source and whatever, but it is probably a PHP variable for the length, because they have already changed it a few times. The only real confirmation we can get about how hard it is, is to ask someone with access to the source.

If MIT could manage, it would be a very nice feature to implement. If not, well, its fine by me.
Yeah, its not that important, just a possible way to solve an arguement

That's a really nice mockup! But I don't think it's something that is likely to happen, given that pretty much all the development effort is focused on Scratch 2.0 right now, not forum changes.
I'm a bit uncertain what the benefits would be too...how would people know what to design their signatures for if the display size could be different for each viewer?

Btw, just a suggestion, but how hard would it be too resize images?
I'm looking into it as I type.

Interesting idea, but wouldn't it cut a lot of people's signatures off - basically destroying the point of them anyhow?
Personally, if you want to view signatures the short way, I'd suggest turning off images in user signatures. Or if you don't want to see them at all, turn signatures off altogether. And if you really dislike signatures, just don't give yourself one!
