Personally, I think they should introduce messaging. There is already a messaging box, it says when you get a comment (what ever), but what would make it better is, if you could send messages. Im not trying to make scratch a Facebook, but if you and your mate are working on a project together, you have got to actually talk about it. Not just have a conversation in the comments...
There will also be the options of turning of your messages, so you only get messages from the scratch team

No.
This has been discussed a zillion times, and the answer was also no.
Did you read this thread?

Simple answer - never gonna happen.

Nope! That's not going to happen.
The scratch website is just for posting projects. The forums are for discussing about scratch.
If you need to chat, get skype, gmail chat, or anything else.

There are other places to PM others. Like what fg (you know, the user above me) said, if you want to send a private message to your friend over the net, use Gmail chat, Skype, whatever.

It's really not that hard to carry a full conversation in comments, once you get over the character limit and all. If you have long ideas just post multiple comments, I guess.
Or you could make a thread in the Collaboration forum. But a big problem I see with that place is people just getting way too chatty. If you're legitimately trying to organize your project, though, go ahead and use it. It's what it's for, anyway, lol.

Andresmh, who [used to be?] the head honcho of the Scratch website, has stated that Scratch will never have private messaging. Such private-ness makes things difficult to moderate, and on a website as open and inviting as Scratch, if there's any bullying going one, we want to know about it.
