My dad just said the best words- "Yeah, you can get it". What he was talking about was Adobe Creative Suite Premium. For those who don't know, it includes:
Photoshop
Illustrator
Photoshop Extended
Flash
Acrobat 8
Dreamweaver
Fireworks
Contribute
I'm really excited right now! Of course, it is hard quitting Scratch*. Expect some occasional projects every now and then, but I really wanna learn these. Right now I'm scanning my report card for proof of student!
*I will sill be on the forums. But my dad said I can work for him if I learn Illustrator and Photoshop. So no, I am just not making projects. I will be busy! I hope it is as fun as it sounds! So, well, I'll make a couple more projects, but in roughly 1 week, they will slow down.
if you have any advice on any of those programs, please tell me!

Well, photoshop and everything else in that suite=hard. It will take probably close to 1-2 months to learn photoshop and illustrator, and yes, i've learned them.
So for me… about 1 month. I learn really fast. Any help appreciated though!

What's the point of including Photoshop AND Photoshop Extended? They're just trying to make it cost more aren't they =P
Good luck though, I wish I had Flash/Photoshop.
Apparently they are different. Don't ask, but think of that. 500.00 dollars for all of those!!! Who cares if they are the same!

Which one will you try to use first?
Flash. Probably this order:
Flash
Photoshop (both)
Dreamweaver
Illustrator
Fireworks
Contribute
Maybe like that?

Meh, I don't even look for any projects from anybody. So it won't make a difference for me. I wish I had flash! SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I realized: I hope I'm not premature on this!! I made a project telling everyone else, which might increase forum flow because I will be hangin' out here. If it's premature, I will be so… you don't wanna know.

I'm sorry you're leaving, but it seems like you will be having a lot of fun with those programs. I don't know about any of them except Photoshop, which I have and know is great. I'm glad you won't be leaving Scratch completely.

Any tips for it? I really wanna learn these things. My dreams coming true! Well, I'll check the status (if I'm eligible, which I should be as a student) tomorrow and tell you what it says, and Monday if it's unchanged (the Weekend, you know, slow)

Are you sure that by "student" it doesn't mean by college or university?

Well, you know when 1 option is K-12
that it isn't (kindergarten-12th grade)

Ouch, 500 dollars. Well if you are going to work for your dad I suppose it is quite a wise investment. I would learn photoshop and illustrator first so you can start working immediately! Also flash is a pain to learn, but you can read guides on the web for help.

Ouch? Individually, those are about $300.00! Yeah, 500 is a lot, but not when you compare it to that! I get basically 6 free!

eh... I'm not sure, but definitely try using every tool; you can learn a lot, fast. And right-click on everything.

I think it's $250 for just flash with the Student's Discount. And out of all those, I pretty much only need Flash.
But it was such a good deal! Instead of $1,600.00 it was $494.95 with free shipping with the student discount! It was from academicsuperstore.com, which seemed legit.
