Scratch for 3DS

Now I know this is probably tricky but there are some people who have 3DSes (or 3DSs) and adding scratch for 3DS might broaden their horizons. I love scratch, but I currently have no computers, and adding scratch for 3DS would be awesome.  big_smile

(P.S. I am currently using my 3DS. Note: I can't play projects, so maybe you can make it where I could download it onto my 3DS Scratch model.)

Re: Scratch for 3DS

This will never happen, there's no need for it. Sorry, but that's the truth.

I agree with veggieman001. Though it's unlikely  sad  ,maybe it will happen. Maybe they'll work something out. :p

Re: Scratch for 3DS

It is not impossible. We started off as cave men. Then the human intelligence grew. We invented the computer. It may not be possible now, but human intelligence is growing every day, so who knows? In 5 years or so, it could be possible  smile

Re: Scratch for 3DS

I think It is a brilliant idea! Besides, Scratch will not always be written in Squeak and Java. Eventually they will make Scratch using Nintendo 3DS Coding and we can make our projects in 3D!
They can pop up out of the screen.
They should add some new blocks too!
Like a Web Page/ Browser Block. The 3DS Has WiFi you know!
See ya around!

Re: Scratch for 3DS

I have a bunch of ideas for 3DS scratch!
1. Script palette, scripting area, green flag on bottom. Project on top
2. Top trades with bottom when green flag tapped.
3. Be available on 3DS store for free

Re: Scratch for 3DS

Unfortunately, the 3ds wouldn't support the way scratch works. 3ds will not support flash or java  hmm  it may be an option for the “Wii U”, but otherwise, I don't think Nintendo would have a scratch app/channel.

Re: Scratch for 3DS

Way unlikely. You wouldn't even be able to view a Scratch project on a 3DS without Java or Flash. The game system doesn't even have all of the controls necessary. Besides, even Scratch for mobile is still a ways off, if it's even happening.

Re: Scratch for 3DS

Scratch was made for the PC: it's got a User Interface that just wouldn't work on other platforms. Furthermore, developing for the 3DS would cost a whole lot more than for the PC because the [3]DS is quite a bit more proprietary than the PC. And since only a handful of people who use Scratch have a 3DS and even fewer would be willing to pay for it to subsidize the cost of developing the program, it's just a pretty bad situation for the Scratch Team to have.

Do you attend a school of some sorts?

If you have some kind of free period you could ask your teacher to let you go on the Scratch site to play games or something. You could maybe ask them to download the program, if you think you've got a chance. I know one teacher installed some weird Food Pyramid game and she'd let us play it in our free time if we were good lol

But yeah, Scratch is an educational tool- Just about all of the schools I've gone to have had Scratch installed on all of their computers anyway, and made it option to mess around with it during recess. We learned about it in class, made games, played games, blah blah and there's been school-sponsored scratch clubs and contests and whatnot

[[You probably aren't able to anyway, but never install junk on your school's computers without permission. I'm just saying. Not trying to start some rebellious expulsion here because "hightide said it was okay!!!"]]

Re: Scratch for 3DS

I'm homeschooled,so no I do not attend a "school" yet I learn. Though I agree, that though it's unlikely, perhaps in a couple of years, they could work something, and who says the scratch team has to make it? It could be made by an ingenious person with the scratch team's permission.

Re: Scratch for 3DS

This is a possible idea! If the area to script and create sprites were at the bottom screen and the stage was at the top screen, then it'd be great.

Maybe perhaps there should be  a button to switch between stage and script screens.  smile

Re: Scratch for 3DS

okay it IS possible. and nintendo does know bout scratch.my uncle works with nintendo of america.
And maybe you can like, just download scratches and not download em on line.
Ps i am using my 3ds
And like said above use the pause button for that and use the stylus (pen thing) to drag the scripts.
PS: Internet on the 3ds don't even use 3d so there!

let ya haters be you're motivators and don't hate them thank em. then you'll be the cool one!  cool

Re: Scratch for 3DS

As the topic "READ THIS BEFORE SUGGESTIONG" said, Scratch is made with squeak and the online player uses the flash player/java player. And scratch was only designed for computers,NOTHING ELSE. AND it takes too much timeto develop into other noncomputers. Sorry but it can never happen.

Re: Scratch for 3DS

That was the past. We live in the now. What was impossible may now be possible. And here is a way to do it. 1. 3DS releases a update with java and squeak, enabling 3DS to play online projects (maybe) 2. Scratch makes a scratch app with smaller screens. We extend the bounds of the possible by proving nothing is impossible. Did you know they discovered a neutrino,a force FASTER than light?
