Mac OS X v. 10.5.8- Troubleshooting -does not open Scratch files

I am doing a school project on Scratch for my Exploring Computer Science class. Since we are now on Thanksgiving break, I took my work home and I want to finish at home. However, Scratch will not open my files! When I open Scratch, it prompts me to open an already existing file. Once I find my project, it will not open. The computers we use at schools use Windows as their operating system, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it?
The extension for scratch is supposed to be .sb right???
Please help  sad

Re: Mac OS X v. 10.5.8- Troubleshooting -does not open Scratch files

.sb is the correct extension. Are you trying to open the project by opening the file in Finder, or by first running Scratch and opening the file that way?
