Squeak cannot locate the sources file....

Ok, so I was changing the variable colour (Shift click "R" in "Scratch") when all of a sudden a message that said "Squeak cannot locate the sources file named /Users/(Computer)/Desktop/Scratch1.4/SqueakV2.sources. Please check that the file is named properly and is the same directory as this image. Further explanation can be found in the startup window, 'How squeak finds Source Code'." I ignored it and tried quitting scratch. The "File-Quit" option had turned a light gray and wouldn't quit the program. I panicked, and forced the program to quit. As I re-opened scratch, it gave the same "Squeak cannot locate..." message. This time I shut down my computer and re-booted it. Same result.

Please help me!

Re: Squeak cannot locate the sources file....

That won't go away unless you uninstall Scratch and reinstall...even then, sometimes it doesn't work and you have to do it again and try and delete files (other than projects) that are scratch related.

Re: Squeak cannot locate the sources file....

Find .image file on http://scratch.mit.edu/img/pages/credits/cat-face-bullet.gifScratch program directory, or uninstall and reinstall Scratch again.
Scratch is based on Squeak -> http://www.squeak.org/ and Scratch.exe is like Squeak and is to read & execute file Scratch.image(includes SqueakV2.sources). I mean Scratch.exe is just shell (Virtual Machine) and Scratch.image is real file what all information and blocks like
[blocks]<move( 0 )steps>
<change{     ▼ }by(1
<if on edge, bounce>
[/blocks]
is in.

The problem you said happend because the file was harmed during editing files,
So if your Scratch can't locate to Scratch.image or ScratchV2.sources, download SqueakV2.sources on download page -> http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Source_Code

For more information, click here

-> SqueakV2.sources is to read Scratch.image
-> The file is zip file, so find SqueakV2.sources in the zip.
wink

Re: Squeak cannot locate the sources file....

This should probably be in the 'Troubleshooting' forum.
