I think you can see how big a Scratch Project is when you set your folder to show 'Details' instead of a List when you're in the folder where the Scratch Project is
But we're talking about an in-program warning

I support, but it's possible to view the file size. In Windows, if you find your project through Windows Explorer, rightclick it, and select "Properties" you will see the file size. In Mac there is Finder (?) which works pretty much the same way.
Also, maybe some small text with the file size will be good enough, instead of a warning. There should be an option to turn it off as well.

That's a great idea! Maybe there should be a box somewhere on the project creator screen that says "Project Size Since Last Save:"
Thanks and exactly!

Yes, I know you can access the file size from an outside application. The idea is that Scratch warns you when you are about to go over the limit, which, for some people who make small animations, isn't a problem, but for people like me, who make grand scale games and such, need to know when the limit has been breached.
Yes, you would be able to turn it off, but not having it in your face means you may not notice it when you need to, and that's beside the entire point.
Not just the warning though, a small bit of text like you mentioned will tell you what your filesize is all the time, except it wouldn't be a pop-up and would located in a corner somewhere where you can glance at it without it being in your face.
Thank you for supporting and I hope I answered any questions you might have had.

For Windows, there is an easier way. Simply open the start menu, click on My Documents, and it has all your projects with the file size under it.
