Re: Gamer's Delight - Scratch's first non-Scratch-related newspaper

here is my glitch master article:

The Glitch master
by Ja8eri

Majora's Mask Creepypasta
(BEN DROWNED)

There has been going around a rumor that there is something called “BEN” who hacks Majora's Mask Cartridges. These very majora's mask cartridges are called “Haunted Majora's mask”.

“On September 7th, 2010, user Jadusable posted a thread about his experiences with a haunted Majora’s Mask cartridge for the N64. He explained that after receiving a suspicious looking Majora’s Mask cartridge from an old man, he went to his dorm-room to play it and noticed it had a save file named “BEN” on it. He decided to ignore it and created a new file, but during the course of the game characters would refer to him as “BEN” at various moments. Figuring it would help the problem, Jadusable deleted the “BEN” save file, but this caused characters to not refer to his name at all. He then attempted to perform the “4th day glitch”, a hack that allows players to get an entire extra day to the game, and was ported to the Majora boss battle at the end of the game. He noticed that text was being displayed incorrectly, and the music being played was a reversed version of the game’s “Song of Healing” before being ported back to Clock Town. At Clocktown he discovered that the textures were missing, the music was distorted and the town was empty of the normal characters. He began posting links to YouTube videos he claims to have recorded while playing” says Know Your Meme. You can see his videos at www.youtube.com/user/Jadusable.

Hm. Interesting story. Is it a true one?
I was actually planning on you doing an article for Issue #2, but this could very well be used for Issue #1! I'll consider it.  smile

Oh. I need true ones (sorry). And I probably wouldn't reccomend creepypasts.
Just funny or interesting glitches in games (for example, how Mario gets endless lives in Super Mario Galaxy; I'm not saying that's an actual one, but it's just an example).
I can do Issue #1 if you want, because the glitches must be released today.
Good job with the research, though!

White Blocks = Whistles?

Okay, okay. By looking at the title, you might be saying, "OMG! I have to look for the white question mark block in SMB3!" Well, 1. It is NOT a question mark block, and 2. It is only in world 1-3. Near the end of the level there should be a white box at around the middle level. Get on the block then crouch and stay that way. If you do it right, you will fall behind the plants. Run towards the black finish area and you will come to a room where there is Toad and a chest, it is obvious to open the chest and you will earn a warp whistle. Play this little device and you will be swept away by a tornado to the warp zone.
“On world one level one, this is REALLY hard to do but if u hold down on the white block you can go behind it. you need to be fast to reach the end. and you go behind the background an theirs a flute.” says Charlotte Koopa on Neoseeker. The Minus World

To start off, this is one of those glitches that are really hard to do but everybody knows about it. I can't really explain it so, here is Wikipedia to explain it! “The "Minus World" (also referred to as "World Negative One") is the name given to an unbeatable glitch level in Super Mario Bros. World 1-2 contains a hidden warp zone, with warp pipes that transport the player to Worlds 2, 3, and 4, accessed by running over a wall near the exit. If the player is able to exploit a bug that allows Mario to pass through bricks, the player can enter the warp zone by passing through the wall and the pipe to World 2-1 may instead transport the player to a stage labeled "World -1. "This stage's map is identical to Worlds 2-2 and 7-2, but upon entering the warp pipe at the end, the player is taken back to the start of the level, thus trapping the player in the level until losing all extra lives. Although the level name is shown as " -1" (note the leading space) on the heads-up display, it is actually World 36-1; the game displays tile #36, which is a blank space, to the left of the hyphen. The Minus World bug in the Japanese Famicom Disk System version of game behaves differently and creates multiple, completable stages. "World -1" is an underwater version of World 1-3 with an alternate color palette, and contains sprites of Princess Toadstool, Bowser, and Hammer Bros. "World -2" is an identical copy of World 7-3, and "World -3" is a copy of World 4-4, also with an alternate color palette, and contains flying Bloopers, no Bowser, and water instead of lava. After completing these levels, the player returns to the title screen as if the game was completed. The Minus World bug was fixed in Super Mario All-Stars and subsequent remakes; however, the Virtual Console releases for Wii and 3DS, which are emulations of the original Super Mario Bros., allow players to perform the glitch.” says Wikipedia. So, there you have it! There is truly is a “Minus World” in SMB. So, I'll see you guys next issue! Goodbye!

Star wars and Indiana Jones

Have you ever noticed that the games Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones are connected? If you watch the trailer for Lego Indiana Jones in the '?' door in Lego Star Wars: the Complete Saga, you get Indy as a playable character. In Lego Indiana Jones, there are a series of Star Wars characters hidden behind walls and rocks. If you get all of them, you unlock Han Solo as a playable character. There aren't any cheat codes for either characters, so those are the only ways to obtain them. The Indiana Jones character can grapple with his whip, whip people with Z, (or it's equivilent for you PS3 or Xbox users) and strangely, it rides the large, brown, furry animals with horns, sideways.

Xbox 360 Teams Up With The NFL

Microsoft and the NFL today announced a multiyear sponsorship that makes the Xbox 360 the official console sponsor of the NFL and NFL PLAY 60, a youth health and wellness program.

"We are excited to be aligning with one of the world’s premier sports organizations and believe the Xbox 360 brand represents many of the same values as the NFL, including fun, fitness and great entertainment,” said Dennis Durkin, corporate vice president and chief operating and financial officer of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business.
