We are from the Land of the Free
Are we not? The internet is as free as anything gets! Free as in free speech, not as in free beer 
In a day where newspapers and other "official" news sources cannot be trusted because most belong to Murdoch, the internet unites us and protects us.
In countries where human rights are ignored and corrupt governments rule, the internet protects the people from the government.

Although they control several large ones, there is still a lot of untarnished information out there not on the internet and we need to preserve the legacy of the newspaper, to let it not die. Also, several websites are owned by Murdoch's company. Does that mean the internet is tarnished? And how do you know which sites to trust on the internet?

I certainly know not to trust "theworldaccordingtomurdoch.com" but wikinews.com seems to be pretty unbiased.

First of all, wikinews.org
And while it may look unbiased, you have to remember that because it's a wiki, anyone can write an article or modify an existing one.
