Best MC House: Lorien Style! (I don't have MC, so this might not work)

I was just playing Minecraft classic and fooling around with the place (making caves, building bridges, modelling stonehenge, making replicas of areas in Radiant Garden etc.) and I got this idea for what could be the most secure house ever made fully of abundant supplies!  Okay, so here's my idea: go around cutting down trees.  Take the leaves, too.  That's the important part.  So after you've done a bunch of that, and a decent pack of other stuff (and I mean a bunch; see next steps).  So then, find a nice big tree, hopefully with lots of neighbors.  Then make stairs up to it (I suggest using the trunks of the trees you cut down).  Once you get to the top, destroy two of the last two blocks (as in the top, and, in the same column, one down).  After than, start taking leaves from the top layer if there's one below that one (make sure you have a solid, flat floor) to flatten what will soon be your floor and to collect some last few leaves.  Once you've leveled out the top of the tree, start putting your leaves on the sides of the tree (same level, just expand it); if there are nearby trees, make your way towards them (try to keep the leaves in a rectangular shape).  If there are trees, then when you reach them, flatten them out like you did to the original.  After you've repeated the previous steps to make the leaf-platform as large as you want, deposit the stair-materials into a pile in a corner near the stairs.  When you want to go down, you'll add the two back to the stairs.  This way no creeper will invade you while you're out or at home.  To finish it all up, make a short railing around the edges if you feel afraid of falling.  Theoretically, you could continue gathering materials and adding to the sides of your house until it hovered above the entire map!  Then you could make stairs to points of interest, and use your house not only as a base and place of shelter, but as a means of transport!

So how's that idea?  Leaves should be abundant enough, and if not, go mining or something and use other materials.  Assuming that creepers can't jump higher than you can, you should also be safe.  Discuss this design.

PS.  For those of you who don't know, Lorien is a place in the Lord of the Rings, and most of the inhabitants live on platforms in treetops, which was also a very safe place to hide from enemies.  And if didn't know that, then go read the Lord of the Rings, for which the author was named the father of modern fiction.

PPS.  This makes me wonder about some other LOTR house designs.  I wonder how practical it is to live in smials, or caves under mountains (scrap that last idea: creepers galore).  Maybe you could live in an open area surrounded by a gate made up leaves.

PPPS.  And that makes me think of other fictional shelters.  Maybe you could live in a place modeled after Robinson Crusoe's home, with huge walls surrounding it and a ladder to get in and out, which you keep inside when you're not out, and a hedge maze where you keep your precious things.  Or something like Kamino, with a bunch of elevated platforms.

You put a lot of thought into that. Better yet: Completely out of Bedrock, with an iron door.

Ask me what I'm doing, wait an hour than roll a die, if it's 4-6, I'm playing Skyrim, if it's 1, I'm eating, if it's 2-3 I'm programming.

Well yeah, but then you can't really look out of it, and it's not nearly as cool.

Interesting.  Khazad-dum style!  (Um, hopefully with a different outcome.)  Of course, it might get kinda dark.  Every time I make a normal house, I always feel like there's a creeper hiding right behind me.  But with it, you can make stairs up to EVERYWHERE!  Just be careful not to flood the whole place.  Someone should make a server about that.  Wars between the Lorien and the Misty Mountains.  I hope someone makes a YouTube video about it.  Or maybe just a collection of pics of their Lorien-house.
