The right thing to do is tell. You could tell the teacher in the way Cheddargirl suggested it! It isn't fair for her to get fame for something she didn't make. It is plaigiarism. It's illegal. Report.
EDIT: You live in England, and I'm not sure if it's illegal there.

If I was my friend:
I would be scared but I'd tell the teacher at the end of the lesson.
If I'd written the poem:
I wouldn't mind too much, providing this person is younger and I don't know her.
If I was the music teacher:
I would not be happy when I found out from somewhere that's not my friend that the poem had been copied.
This is what I'm going to do:
I'm going to talk to my friend and persuade her to tell the teacher. This might be difficult, as by friend, I mean 'a person who was my friend when we both started at our new school but is now one of the popular people'. If she doesn't, I will probably let the teacher know. If I just told her in the middle of the lesson by sticking up my hand, I would soon have the five most popular people in the class turning on me and I would not be popular with the rest of the class. However, after reading the entire Malory Towers series, I think it's worse to do it anonymously. So I'll tell her after our lesson next Friday. 6owever, we'kk only have two weeks until the concert then.
I write very long posts when I'm thinking lots.

I'd support her and try and convince her. I wouldn't report it to the teacher, because I would believe it's her choice to make. But I'd remind her the longer this goes on, the worse it'll be. Make sure that if you or your friend does explain to the teacher, remind the teacher that it wasn't on purpose.
And for all you saying it's illegal. I don't know if it is or not, but I doubt she'll get arrested. Detention maybe.

Technically, plagiarism is illegal. Kids don't really get arrested, but she could get in serious trouble for plagiarizing.

Ah. Read up on it. Most pupils at my school commit plagiarism all the time and no-one gets punished for it. Of course that wasn't on a scale as large as this one. Just for homework and schoolwork.
What year is this girl in?
And I'm pretty sure the school will look over it if they realise it was accidental. Maybe suggest for her to tell her parents, so the parents can contact the school and explain?
Overall, it's up to you. But she should be the one to sort it out. You should just give her as much help and support as possible.
