5 in. snowfall in central Mass., power outage & tree branches falling

I don't post that much on misc but I felt like sharing this. So yeah, past few days, the weather channel was predicting 5-10 inches of snow for us, and well, that's what happened. Normally this isn't too bad, right? There's plenty of plowing and shoveling to do and stuff right? Well yes, but in this situation it is worse because its so ealr jn the year. Normally it starts snowing late november or early december. As a result, trees have the weight of their leaves AND snow on them. This means many tree branches are drooping downwards, or just plainly falling. Hence, my yard and many others look so weird. But of course this damages powerlines and stuff. So my house has no power. (im using my charged phone with 3g to send this ).

Additionally, Im wondering if there will be school tomorrow. If so, I won't have my typed book report xD. If not, then we'll miss the field trip.

Ill work on trying to upload a picture if can. Wish me luck  tongue

Yeah, it's STILL SNOWING up here in Maine.

There's like, 3 inches out there, possibly more.

Re: 5 in. snowfall in central Mass., power outage & tree branches falling

So a quick status update...

It seems that thousands in our town are without power. After shoveling a bit, my sldad and I went to dunkin donuts. The normal line AND the drive thru lines were very long. We god some bagels, donuts, and some hoy chocolate though  tongue . Great day of business for them!

Still, many roads are closed, with many fallen branches. Will keep posted...

Re: 5 in. snowfall in central Mass., power outage & tree branches falling

The 5-8 inches of snow Southeast Pennsylvania got yesterday is beginning to melt...

But yeah, it was pretty terrible TBH  tongue  Three trees near/at my house fell down, we have to chop down five or six, one fallen tree branch even trapped one of my chickens :< (yes, I live on a farm.)

But aside from all that, at least my ski resort might open early this year  big_smile
