The girl that I can't stand (S) was trying to sell my friend (A) some candy.
More like forcing.
I said, "You can't sell stuff that's not yours!"
She said, "My dad bought it and gave it to me. So it is MINE and I can sell it!"
C, A, B, and I told her it was illegal.
It went on like that, and then she smacked the crates next to me and screamed, "JUST SHUT UP!"
My teacher, Mrs. M, said, "That's bullying to a lesser extent."
I explained to her why S said that, and Mrs. M said it was called extortion and it was illegal. Then the class started talking about extortion.
What's your opinion on this? I think it was wrong of S, even if it was just candy. She also tried to sell a paper clip shaped like a (terrible) heart that was scented (she colored it with scented highlighter).
Yeah, the paperclip wasn't really extortion but nonetheless, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to sell things at school.

I didn't know it was illegal, but I'm kind of ignorant about stuff like that, so I wouldn't
She is.
I didn't know what it was called, but I knew it was illegal.

I really don't agree with eBay.
I don't think it's right.

You mean like the guy who sold an experimental version of the iPhone 5 on eBay after finding it forgotten by an Apple employee in a bar?

I don't think it's right.Why?
Because people are raking in profits for stuff they didn't make.
If they made it, it's a whole different story.

This. It's your stuff; nobody should be able to give a darn what you do with it as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

What if they don't have a use for it anymore and they want to pass it on to someone else but not waste money? Are you saying garage sales should be outlawed?

True. I mean, without eBay and carboots, I wouldn't have got Lola my pikachu, or sold some games to other people for their enjoyment. And they don't usually 'rake in profits', usually they go under the amount paid for.
But yeah, it's your opinion.
I'm gonna go google the word 'extortion' now :3
I think what the teacher meant by 'extortion' was that she was selling stuff for an unreasonable amount. That's a guess though ;_;
Edit: just wiki'd the word 'extortion'. I was way off.
Your teacher was implying 'S' was trying to force you into buying their goods :L

Also, eBay and garage sales are no different than a manufacturer selling something to Walmart and then Walmart reselling it... :I

Interesting feedback. I don't think kids should be able to sell anything on a government site. Just walk across the street and buy it, you can't get in trouble for that!

Candy is not illegal to sell if it doesn't say you can't sell it. Most say you can't sell it if you check the tab.
