Are we allowed to post Paypal donate buttons?

Re: Paypal donate buttons

I hasn't an idea.

It doesn't look strictly illegal, but rather immoral. I feel like making/raising money for some cause doesn't belong here.

Neither illegal or immoral. I'm providing a Minecraft server right now and I'd like to upgrade it. Upgrading costs money, and I'm not forcing anyone to pay for it, just asking those who feel they'd like to support me to support me.

Re: Paypal donate buttons

if people provide a worthy service, then why not? It would encourage charity and good will in youung people. I'm interested to see what the scratch team think about this.

Re: Paypal donate buttons

I don't use PayPal so I wouldn't know, but as long as it doesn't share any of your personal information that would be inappropriate to post on Scratch, then it's probably fine.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. And besides, this is a website where you post Scratch projects, not PayPal donate buttons.

I'd suggest e-mailing the Scratch team to first explain what the Paypal button is going to be used for before posting any Paypal links first. Posting links with some kind of monetary idea behind them are discouraged around here with few exceptions.  hmm
