I'm hopeful my throat will leave me alone by Sunday. But even if it doesn't, I'll still be able to sing the first verse - it's not really high.

How's your voice? I bet those late nights aren't helping

Not unless I spend my nights drinking hot tea. ^_^
...which I do not. >.> But still, it's not that bad now. xD

Good to know you're feeling a little better
I admit I tend to stay up pretty late myself but I cut it off at 12, I get up at 6:45 every morning!
Do you have "Whittards" in Russia? They do wonderful fruit teas in powder form, you spoon some in and it dissolves! Delicious!

Ah, I get up later than that... most of the time I would go at 12, but sometimes I can stay a bit longer without feeling too tired in the morning. ^^

Nope, never heard of them. 3:
P.S. Good night. xP

My goodness, you're right! I throw in minor notes like a corrupt grocer trying to pass off rotten vegetables as fresh!
I think that the minors I do do technically work, but I don't think they should be there, all the same...

Hahahahaha! xD
Does that mean you are also fascinated by minor songs? 'Cause then we would have something in common. >:3

Hehe. xP
Too bad that song is in major. 3: jk ^^
Have you decided on the key?
P.S. I looked up "Whittard Moscow" in Google and it appears that they are planning to open their store here! ^^

Wow, that's pretty cool! I highly recommend their teas, especially "Dream Time" and for the winter, "Mulled Wine"
If you think it's okay, I would be very happy to move everything up by two notes at least (so starting note from 56 to 58) as 51 really is my lowest note and doesn't sound very good when I sing it...

Et Voila! Blowing Away No Pitch Bend With Key Change Variable
It's set to the keychange of 2 that I'm suggesting, see what you think
Offline
You raised by a tone? Oh, that shouldn't be a problem at all, I thought you were gonna raise by like 4 half-tones. xD
But just to make sure we haven't missed any low notes - what do you think the lowest note in the second part of the chorus is?

If they are in the US, I might get a chance to try some of the teas when I move there! ^^ Thanks for the names. :3

You're moving to the US? That's pretty cool, any idea which state? I've only ever been to Florida
Moving countries is pretty exciting, I remember moving from Switzerland to England being very cool, and obviously it helps if you know the language, which, unless I'm unknowingly typing in Russian right now, you do
Yeah, I only needed it a little higher, it kinda hurts to sing 51. (Whatever actual note that is
). With the raised tone, I think the lowest note becomes 51 or 50 for the chorus, because with that tone raise I remember being able to sing it before, I'll have to check!

Oh, I'm going to Virginia. ^^
That's odd. I remember spotting a very low note at 0:49 and again at 0:58-0:59 which seemed to be lower than a 51, so I asked to make sure you didn't miss it out.
...I just checked it in Scratch and it's a 46 with the tone raise. O.o
Offline
An alternative would be good... although I must say that low 46 passing into a 51 at 0:59 sounds pretty sweet, that's why I payed attention to it. ^^
Offline
Yep, that's the one. I always love it when basslines go like that.
...I suppose raising it 5 notes higher would just be assuming that I am a dolphin who can ultrasound. xD
Offline
Yeah, I agree with that... it'll mess up the song.
So, do you want to find an alternative note? ^^
Offline
I think I may have to, I bet it's possible to work out quite a nice slide that works and is in my range
We'll probably get to that later. Well. Do you think it's better to midify it all first, or to do it in stages with recording in between?
Offline
I think it would be best to midify all the parts that need some work right now (like that 0:59 part), and do the rest in stages. What do you think?
Offline
Sounds like a plan. It's not as if we can do anything else till your voice is healed!
Are you wanting to do that then? If I do it I'll end up with a load of minor notes from me and a load of major corrections from you but I'm happy to do it if you don't want to
EDIT: It's very quiet in here, is it courtesy in collabs not to comment in others' posts? I quiet like the fact we can get on with it without external posters offering their opinions
I've ascertained that my lowest note is in fact 27, but since that's simply an octave lower than 51 that's just me being stupid earlier.
The Scratch site's been up-and-down a lot the last two days, do you know anything about what's going on?

Sure, leave the MIDI part to me!
MIDI's are my passion after all... ^^

I'd guess so - but it might also be because people on Scratch are more used to giving programming/artistic advice and not so much musical. xD I do agree that it's very nice, though.

Oh, so does that mean you can actually sing the low bass part? And the original key of the song? :-D (And that is LOW! You're great! O.o)

I found this post by Lightnin: (link)

*Anguished face* I'm not SURE! I'm great at matching my voice to a note but I haven't a clue if I'm singing it in the same octave or not! Basically, I think that the lowest note on the first verse which we have as 51 is in face 27, we've just midified it too high. I could technically sing it that octave higher in which case it's not going to sound very bassy. Hang on, let me record the same part in two octaves and see if you can work out which one I should go with?
