I've decided that I want to buy Minecraft! Yep, that's right! I've watched lots of videos about it and want to get in on the action.
But what version should I get? I've heard that older ones are sometimes better....

There will be no updates or other versions where you have to pay more after you've already bought the game (except there might be expansion packs). Although once minecraft 1.0 comes out it will be more expensive so I recommend buying it before Beta ends (it ends on November the 18th I think). So buy it before then- you'll get every update they make.

I thought that to get the final version you had to buy before december 2010 or something like that.

You may want to wait for 2.0 so you don't have to pay for 1.9 and 2.0.![]()

Werdna said it would update.
Okay, that's one reason I decided that I should buy it.

Yeah. Well worth the money. I bought mc about 1 year agoish and I've played about 3 hours a day since, on average.

Well if you do get bored and want new stuff you could get mods. (free)
Some are really amazing, adding tons of new blocks and items and even new worlds. If you don't want mods you can always wait for the constant updates bringing awesome new stuff.
Like in the next update there'll be 6 new mobs (including dragons and snow golems!), a new world, lots of new blocks and items and more.

Lets see:
Blaze things
nether slime
ender dragons
snow golems
What else? Are you counting baby animals and red dragons?

So $21.95 is the price?

There is no older version/newer version. Just buy it. BUT IT! Only if you're willing to throw you life out the window. It's addicting.

There is a way to illegally get it free which *someone* on this thread has done. Don't do it though. Seriously.

There isn't 2.0.
Don't listen to them, PF.
You can only buy the latest on BTW.
