Emos that like yelling about how they're depressed & being really showy are more scene than emo.
I wear thick eye makeup & stuff to make me feel more secure about who I am... I know I'm ugly so I try to cover it up with make-up. I've been told so many times through my life that I'm ugly, stupid, whatever. So I started beileving it & still do.
Not all emos are like 'omgomg I like kiling bunniez ololololol I think its sad so I cry after and slits my wrists trolool how rebellious' or whatever - I believe in the Black Parade & all that because it gives me something to hold onto, in a world of things that are there one moment & gone the next. Okay, I've never known my real family, I was bullied through primary school, I have health problems that have ruined over a year of my life. Becoming emo got me into music that helped me realise there's more to life than dwelling on the past. I wear black, lots of bracelets to cover my scars (I had to get counselling for my self-harm) and I pretty much look like your stereotypical emo. I love piercings & I will hopefully be getting purple streaks through my fringe so I look less gothic. I never thought I'd ever get good friends (at least ones that don't move far away) or a boy that liked me. I was wrong there (even though my friend is moving away and stuff) but still, I'd lost hope in a world where my own parents couldn't be bothered to even get in touch.

So yeah, I dunno how you think about this, but I hate it when I drag others down with my sadness, I tell them to just leave me & forget me. It breaks my heart to see my best friend cry over me, and when that happened is how I realised I need help.

Emo started out as this, then turned into this, then turned into this, and then turned into... oh screw it. It's getting hard to keep track of. The term wasn't necessary in the first place, and became even more unnecessary when it completely changed definition multiple times. I really despise this word, and wish it a slow and painful death.

No, I'm not. I'm not an adult, but that doesn't mean I know nothing about adults.

I can't name that many, to be honest. But that's because the REAL definition only lasted for like 5 years before it got screwed. But I can name plenty of bands that aren't emo, contrary to what some people believe (from A-Z):

These bands aren't emo (most of them are either alternative, pop rock, pop punk, or metalcore). And like I said, I don't believe the term should've been created in the first place.
