I saw the commercial, I don't think that the pony saying "my wings are so pretty" is teaching kids to be cocky - it actually sounds a bit more on the side of vanity, but it's rather quite slight.  (If anyone wants to see the commercial, you can view it here).

Actually, there's quite a bit of fans of MLP who disagree with the commercial as well since the sayings of the pony toy are totally out-of-character with the figure in the show. If anything, it's just the commercial that's rather negative here, not really MLP in general. I could say the same for many different product commercials out there associated with a fandom or show of some sort. 

MLP FIM: The toys are horrible, but the show is epic (from a brony. no troll, please)

Yes, and the real Princess is white, and even shows her white in the animated beginning, but the toy is pink (my sister wanted it, and it shows it pink) Oh, and animieboy, I agree, that pinkie is nothing like the real one.

I was watching AT when that cm came on. There was like a 6 year old girl playing with it and i screamed "YOUR'E TOO YOUNG TO PLAY WITH PONIES!"

I'm sorry, but I just watched the ad and failed to see how that's teaching kids to be cocky? >.>
I hardly ever watch MLP, as it's a bit childish IMO. However, even I can see that it's just some creepy toy pony aimed at little kids who wanna grow up to be like 'Princess Celestia' and be a pretty pony thingy. I don't see how it's teaching kids to be brats, give MLP a break :L
