Here are the explanations/tips
1: bumping. A lot of new scratchers dont know what bumping is. it is simply getting a topic you think is good to the front by adding an extra post.
2: dont spam advertise. dont advertise by spamming it is very bad and mostly annoys people.
3: off topic posts. they are just plain annoying, if you are a new scratcher and you want to post something random, wait until you graduate to scratcher then post on the Misc. forums.
4: trolling. yeah this is BAD very annoying and should be reported immediently. trolling is one person trying to annoy others and watch their reactions.
Hope these helped! There are other things that I may add once I gain scratcher and can edit posts. Please follow these!

First of all, the Grammar Police, Spelling Nazis and Punctuation Radicals are after you.
Second of all....
1. That's not a tip, that's a function of the forum. Also, don't overuse it.
2. Spamming can be good. For example,"play my project [link]" is bad, but "Hey! Awesome game! Beautiful scrolling! Can you teach me how to set up the sensors so Mario can land on a Goomba but not glitch through the floor?" is good.
3. Nobody does this.
4. It's okay if you use it sparingly and you add a little bit of fun humor in it. It's rare outside the Miscellaneous forums, so I guess you might not know much about trolling.

I've seen off topic posts. lets face it. go to the last page of a forum where the closed topics hang out and youll find a few. oh and btw I was rushing it. I needed to work on a big project. 10 long levels of epicness. it will be done in like a month at this rate :\

You've seen an off topic post on the last page of a forum in a closed topic.
And you think it's a recurring problem that new scratchers need to know about.

look there is now a non-closed post that went off topic because of some TF2 scout saying something about dispensers.

I like that your willing to help. But I suggest you wait to post things like this until you have lost the "New" in your status.

I would appreciate if somebody could teach me how to make barriers
