Is there a way to delete your own comment, left on someone else's project?
eg. If you say something stupid, can you retract it?
I searched, but I couldn't find a way to do this.
Is there a reason why not?

This is a pretty important feature, surely? Is there really no way to do this?

No... There is not.

Well, there should be!
I hereby humbly suggest that this feature is added.
Sincerely,

Oh, I found this declined suggestion on Scratch suggestions.

We've decided not to do it for security reasons. If people could make comments and then delete them later, it would be really easy for people to make mean comments to someone and then delete them before anyone else had a chance to flag them. So that's the reason why you can't delete your own comments on other people's projects and galleries.
I'm not sure this sounds quite right to me. What if you did say something mean, but then changed your mind and wanted to retract it?
I suppose it does encourage people to think before they post, at least...

Post a reply.
Example:
blob8108:i think we should all eat bananas
blo8108(reply):Sorry i was drunk when i wrote the above. Ignore it towehftewofhw
There, that's better.

That doesn't really solve the problem, though. What you've said is still there; it doesn't remove it. It's not quite the same thing.

If we can do it with posts, why not with comments?!?!?!

Exactly!
Though I suppose on the project pages, mean comments might be more hurtful. The forums are generally more public and moderated.
Even so, it does seem inconsistent...
