Re: ITopic: Scratch Secrets

I suppose that another 'secret' to add, that has become rather well known, but not by all:
You can SHIFT+Click the loop of the 'r' in the scratch logo to get at the backdoor menu, that allows you to access the source code.

However, another thing that you can do to debug is to turn error catching off.
This allows you to figure out whether it is a division by zero, a square rooting of a negative, or whatever else can trigger those annoying red scripts.

You cannot import AVI files.
However, there is freeware out there to convert AVI to GIF, which you can import.

Re: ITopic: Scratch Secrets

I found out how to make scratch fullscreen! Shift-click in the loop in the 'R' in the Scratch logo, at the top left corner. A menu will appear. Click on 'turn fill screen off'. Click on the gray space that appears around the ScratchFrame. Click 'turn full screen on'. To go back turn fillscreen on.

Re: ITopic: Scratch Secrets

If you are working with a really long script, drag a portion of it into the stage or a sprite with few scripts and work on it there, this speeds up scripting very much. When you are done drag it back to the sprite it was meant for.

Re: ITopic: Scratch Secrets

The instructions here:
http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Network_Installation
for changing the default sprite work on regular Scratch as well.
I think that this is very cool.

ugh, scratch is soooooooooo confusing!

That should be asked on another topic/forum, but I am going to answer you anyway.

You simply export the sprite and open it in the paint program you are using.

Re: ITopic: Scratch Secrets

- You can drag multiple images at once into Scratch. They will become costumes within a sprite.
- You can drag in an animated gif.
- You can drag in images from a web browser, Word, and some other programs (on Windows).
- You can drag in a Scratch project from a file folder.

What do you mean by drag?

Here's a list of tips and shortcuts from the Scratch programming team.

BLOCKS AND SCRIPTS
- To copy a stack of blocks from one sprite to another, drag the stack to the thumbnail of the other sprite (at the bottom right corner of the screen).

Whenever I do this, it outlines the thumbnail in silver. Any idea why?

I've got another one: To set the thickness of the unfilled circle tool and rectangle tool, just set the size that you want on the pen tool.
