??Organization for projects in the forums??

I think that the scratch team should make categories in the forums for projects based on quality. What I mean is, based on how good your project is, it would get placed in a corresponding  category. For example, let's say you're a new scratcher, and you just uploaded a project that wasn't so great, like a boring animation or a buggy game. When you upload the project, it still goes in your "my stuff" section of your account immediately, but also the scratch team reviews it for category placement. Since your project wasn't so great, they decide it belongs in the "Beginners" category. Now, if you made an AMAZING project with no bugs, a good style, nice appeal etc, it would be put in the "Advanced" category. When your project gets placed in whatever category, the topic containing your project would be labeled it's name and you would be sent a notification telling you where to find your project in the forums, perhaps a link to it. I think this would benefit scratchers GREATLY for a few reasons. First, think about all the views you would get if everyone knew about the categories and was therefore checking them all the time. undoubtedly, the "Advanced" category would be most viewed, and you could work your way up from "Beginner". There could also be a middle rank/category maybe called "Medium" or "Middle" or something. People could post their opinions of your project in it's topic, critiquing it and giving you suggestions. This would also eliminate that pesky 500 word limit on regular project comments.

I had more but I forgot some of what I was going to say...

Ideas???/ Thoughts???

Re: ??Organization for projects in the forums??

I think the problem here is that very few people would check the section for lower-quality projects, relegating projects from newbies to insignificance. Not only that, but I don't think it's very fair to organize projects like that. Getting your project put in a low-ranking category would be pretty degrading for some, which is why we've avoided a rating system on projects.  hmm

Besides, there are tons of projects uploaded every hour. Who would review them all?
