1/9 = .111...
1/9 * 8 = .888...
1/9 * 9 = .999...
therefore .999... = 1.
Opinions?

No, 1/9 * 9 = 1. (9/9 = 1)

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say.

1/9 * 9 = 1 because it's the same as 1/9 * 9/1, which equals 9/9, which equals 1.
Of course 1/9 * x = .xxx... (x being the number) because it would end up as x/9, but 1/9 * 9 doesn't equal .999... since 9/9 isn't .999...
Therefore, 1/9 isn't 1. But I don't know where that number came from. o.o
I'm the best one in my Algebra I class.

That's if you round it up. You could just post it as .9.

.999 (going on forever) isn't 1, its just rounded because its really close to it.
Ex. 1/3=0.333(going on forever)
2/3= 0.666 (Going on Forever)
3/3= 0.999(going on forever) or 1

No, 0.999999999... must equal 0.999999999
1 must equal 1
Just because the difference is infinitely small doesn't mean they're the same number.
If you do think that infinitely small difference doesn't matter, than the post means nothing anyway, as it basically says 1=1
