maybe when you edit or delete a comment, the moderators and ST can see the original so trolls cant delete their comments and just go clean, if someone sees it before they change it, they still should flag it, right. Even if they changed it before anyone saw it, then no one would be insulted or offended by it, right?? So then the trolls would still get caught but we would be able to edit our comments.

I agree. The ST has already said no to editing comments, but they haven't seen this idea. Also, the mods and ST should be able to see all versions of all comments.

How would that work? Could there be a "View original comment" button?

No, seeing as the Scratch Team wouldn't see the bad comment and brush it off.

As zippynk said, the Scratch Team could allow themselves to view the original comment.

Yes, but mention that there should be a time limit for how long you are able to edit your comment. That way trolls can't slip past the moderators. Oh, and the moderators and admins should be able to view the original comment.
...Better yet, they should be able to view all versions of the comment. And you can only edit your comment a maximum of 5 or 10 times as well. That would make things secure if the Scratch Team were to add this feature.
