My mom doesn't let me buy stuff online... or use a credit card....
So can it be sold in certain retail stores? (Even though not everyone knows what Scratch is) Please?

joeyman: i don't think so. it's only available on the website. but i can tell you that i am also hesitant to buy stuff online (i've been burned twice before), but the pico site was fast and easy with no problems.

Joeyman: Yeah, I wish it were a little cheaper, but really, when you consider the cost of a Wii controller, which you can't even customize, the sensor board is a pretty good deal. Once you learn a little electronics from magazines like popular electronics, or learn a bit about "hard hacks" like you can see in Make Magazine, you'll start to see what sort of things are possible. In my opinion people have barely scratched the surface (pun intended) of these boards...

Actually, she said no already, but she'll say yes if I explain it to her. Also, it's funny you should mention a Wii controller, I'm on the Internet channel right now! lol

Well, goodnight. I had a LONG day... I worked hard with my dad at his job, played Guitar Hero III INTENSELY and roller-bladed 9 and a half miles. Also, it's almost midnight here! See you in about 8-9 hours! Goodnight... zzzzzZZZZZ

Hi Joeyman,
I understand. You could probably have your mom call the PICO office and place the order directly through them, if it made her more comfortable.
Keep in mind if this were available in stores it would cost more because stores mark up the price so they can make a profit. I can understand it's tough to come up with 50$, or to convince parents to come up with it, but the pricing on these boards is pretty reasonable. There isn't a demand for them like a Wii controller , so they can't be made in large batches.
I hope this offers some help/answers

Are you the actual maker of the product? If so do you plan on releasing it for sale again?

Again my apologies for not getting back to you right away. All of the people that could answer this question for me are actually in Boston for a Scratch conference, so our office is quite quiet this week. I'll let you know as soon as I know!

Well.....I don't actually make them myself, however, I am part of the PICO (Playful Invention Company) team, as a toy tester and support technician. PICO makes the PicoBoard and the PicoCricket. I was asked to answer questions about the PicoBoard here in this forum. I have quickly learned that the community is so strong and active that I have little to do ! That being said, never hesitate to ask me if you have a question regarding the PicoBoard
The PicoBoard is still available. Perhaps you are thinking of the ScratchBoard?
