My dad's friend wrote this after the 9/11 incident... It really changed the way I think about 9/11 because it's from the point of view of someone who worked in the second tower.

Wow...that's a great story and point of view to hear it from.

Wow. The last 4 people who have posted here have an American flag in their sig.
@Survivor: It's amazing to hear it from someone who was so close to losing their life in the attacks. The story has a really sad atmosphere to it..

That's seriously just evil... Planes crashing into towers killing hundreds of people, then jumping to their death or dying of the explosion/burning is epic?
And a MUSICAL ABOUT 9/11? A MUSICAL? Musicals are made to be people happy, singing... What, people would be singing "We're all going to die" gleefully while evacuating a building?
What's wrong with the world today...

My mum was in hospital at the time, getting a scan 'cause she was pregnant with my sister. My dad was supposed to be there with her, but because he is a journalist, pretty much the moment it happened, his phone started going crazy, and we didn't see him for days because of all the political repercussions that he had to talk about on the news.
My mum didn't want me to see, so I wasn't allowed to watch TV. But since then I've watched the footage many times, and I know everything that happened.
And for those naive people who believe in the conspiracy rubbish, please don't disrespect the people who died, and take your views to shady internet forums where the rest of you live.

Neither, I'm just saying it's a coincidence.

Ugh... reposting for cheddargirl:

Regarding what's happening here in this thread:
In the realm of the internet where many people from many different cultures, ages, and backgrounds exists, it can be hard for some to understand the magnitude of something as tragic like 9/11.
Sometimes it's a good thing to discuss feelings triggered by the event and the events themselves, but be aware that some people are more sensitive to 9/11 others. On a personal level of having gone through the 9/11 event myself (I was in a school whose window offered a partial view of the NYC skyline and direct view of the World Trade Center), thinking back to this event isn't always easy and so it makes me cringe [and perhaps angry] when people take light of what happened on 9/11. I'd imagine it is harder for my friends and classmates who lost family members on that day. So for those who have not been majorly affected by 9/11 - I'd like for you to think before you post. Around 3000 victims died on that day, and thousands more have been traumatized, so be mindful about what you say in here.
Also, please do not forget that this isn't the best place to stir up political debate (so stuff like blaming the president or post 9/11 government decision, etc. is better left for the handful of offsite debate forums floating around on the World Wide Web).
Thanks, and Scratch On.

No.
My dad just told me the story of what he and I experienced.
He showed me a jar with dust from it in it.
It was not epic.

I was in the second grade when it happened. I was getting ready for school when I saw the towers fall on the news. I was little, so I didn't really understand it, but I knew it was bad. Honestly, I still don't understand it entirely, but who does? Regardless, I will never forget that day.

i agree that 9/11 was very sad, and thousands of our country's people were killed, but most people don't realize that our country has killed people in other places too. I think that everyone should respect each other and stop the killing.

i read it... I'm a very emotional person so if he added any more detail, my heart would have exploded. Plus i can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to stay in the second building after the first exploded,no offense for anyone who stayed and died when the second plane hit.

You know, I have sometimes felt that way as well. But then I realized, it is not so much the countries involved, but the individuals involved, that make things like this so sad. The individuals who were killed on 9/11 were not the same individuals who decided to drop the bomb on Hiroshima. They are not the same individuals who killed citizens in Vietnam. It can be debated whether those actions of the past are good or bad (don't debate that here, please), but I don't think it can be debated whether or not those individuals deserved to die on 9/11. You or I could have been up there, or maybe our parents, or our best friends. 9/11 was very sad, especially for those with direct ties to the victims.

Two friends of my family were crushed when the South Tower collapsed. I don't find it very epic.
Somehow I remember seeing it on TV. I was 4, and we were on vacation in Kentucky at an uncles house. On the way home (we lived in Connecticut), we could still see smoke floating over the Hudson from the George Washington bridge. Of course I didn't understand it at the time...
