Age of Empires

This is, after Supreme Commander, simply the best RTS I've ever played. I think it's the incredible simplicity mixed with  the complex strategies needed to be good at it. If you have never played Age of Empires II, go to your local video game store, and buy a copy. I got 3 for $10 (I use them as gifts. I've never found anyone who doesn't like it.)

Here, because it appears to not exist yet, is the topic for all things AOEII. Not AOEIII. That game was probably the WORST RTS I've ever played. Too much graphics, too little awesomeness. And a magical fountain, apparently.

Re: Age of Empires

I love Age of Empires 2: Conquerors. It's like 1, but with improved graphics, and about 50 new objects and 4(I think) new civilizations.  BTW, in conqurers type

Re: Age of Empires

Lol I love that one. Super doggie! My fav strategy is what I call  Castle Rushing. Its a form of Turtling where you wall off enemy gates and build castles outside of em. Dont have to buy Murder Holes that way too. Costs a LOT of stone thiugh...

Re: Age of Empires

My dad's obsessed with it and can play often 12 hours a day.

I don't see what's so wonderful about it.

Its just awesome because its super inexpensive, has a huge variety of units and statrgies, and its got good replay value because you can almost never win it
