Well, I once heard someone call someone else an "overrated noob" but I didn't want to use the word "noob" in my story, so child was pretty much the only other thing I could think of.

No it doesn't, and that was just hyperbole

"Noob" technically means that someone is new to something, since it's short for "newbie" (that is right, isn't it?) but it's generally used as an insult that means someone is rubbish at something. "Loser" is self explanatory. And if someone is rubbish at something, that generally means that they would lose at the thing they are at noob at.

Uh, that's like saying a dentist is the same thing as a doctor (though noob and loser are even further apart than those 2)

Someone can be a loser and not a noob, and someone else can be a noob and not a loser.
