Lots of people that go on Advanced Topics go there for help with mod making. Here are tips that will really help make your mod popular, and make it good in general!

1. Get inspiration. People often name their mods after animals. It is a good idea to name your mod after your favourite animal. Just make sure the name isn't already used 

2. Squeak/Smalltalk. It is a good idea to learn Squeak/Smalltalk, as that is the language Scratch is written in. Also try to get to know the interface and system browser 

3. Create a Website. Most mods come with a website, which makes it easier to check for updates. Here are a list of recommended free website/blog creators:
