It would be great to have a way of searching for a variable (or something else) within a program. For instance, if I'm looking at someone else's program, perhaps there are 20 sprites and one of these sprites broadcasts "Success." If I want to see which sprites take action when they receive this broadcast, I currently need to search manually by clicking through all 20 sprites. Instead, I'd love to be able to search for "When I receive 'Success'" and let the computer do the searching for me.
(Please note: Yesterday, in the "New Users" area of the forum, I asked whether such a search feature existed. I'm now mentioning this in the "Suggestions" area of the forum because this feature appears not yet to exist. I hope this is okay.)

Great idea! Sometimes I get lost in my scripts too But next time, when asking questions about scratch, instead of putting it in the "New Scratchers Forum", try putting it in the "All About Scratch forum".

This is a really good idea. Support!

Seems like a good idea, but quite hard to implement.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. If it's too hard to implement, maybe there's something simpler that would be possible? What if, when one sprite broadcasts something that another sprite receives, the icons of both sprites glowed for a few seconds to help Scratchers visualize what's going on? That way, we'd have a clearer picture of which sprites are responding to the broadcast signal.

That sounds cool.
Maybe you should make a separate suggestion about that.

Guess I support, but I think it's fine how it is.
