is there one? I'm thinking about buying it but I still want a trial first.
There IS a "free" trial, but only for people with Nvida graphics cards or whatever. (stupid capitalism)
But is there a LEGIT LEGAL way to try portal for free?

Portal for Wii would be epic
(but sadly, you can't play it on Wii). Yeah, I think there is a demo on Steam (You also can buy the game there if you decide to).
Personally, I highly recommend the game

Yes, but you'd have to install it on each computer you want to play it on.

Okay, I might just ask for the portal complete bundle to save 5 bucks.
It looks epic. no graphics card requirements, right?
It will also be so much cooler in 3d than the 2d flash game.
Edit: Sep, I said there was a "free" trial, but you need a certain brand of graphics card to play the trial.

My collab counselor status means that I'm helping out with the Collab Camp this year
And yeah, like GLaDOS (
) said, I think you can play it on multiple computers, but you have to download it on each one (only paying once). It takes forever to download just an FYI. I bought the combo pack and it took 5+ hours (at least!) for both of them to download... Well worth the wait though

I'm GLaD I have a NVinda graphics card, I get a bunch of games for free
Oh, and you need to have a fairly good graphics card, it requires you to have one that came out in 2007 or later.

lol fail.
Are they trying to make you buy it or what?
There is NO REASON that the demo should be a bigger file than the actual main game.

I'm pretty sure it includes the entire game for some reason. >_<

Maybe you can buy it in-game, so you can just purchase it and it unblocks the premium stuff?
The speed thing could also be because Steam could use boosters on purchasers, and not people that just get free games.

It's probably the former. I'm pretty sure Steam doesn't throttle downloads, because I still get solid speeds when downloading demos.

wouldn't that just make it easier to hack around purchasing it? I mean, giving all the game's files, really?
Edit: 92%
