The Finale! (ish)

I've just finished the third and final part of Time Invasion of Cow story arc, in my The Adventures of Goldie the Superdog. Be sure to tell me what you think of it.  wink  Here it is:

Goldie was still trapped in the net, unable to escape. The two guards had run away, leaving Goldie alone with Simon, who just happened to be charging towards him. Just before Goldie was trampled on, he rolled to one side. While Simon wasn’t currently charging towards him, Goldie decided to use the time to escape.

He reached his arms through the net again, and pressed a different button this time. The net released. Goldie didn’t know how much time he had left, but needed to be quick. As Simon was turning around to charge at him again, Goldie was running towards the control consol. He leapt at it, and punched right through the huge metal pole.

It collapsed, crushing the control consol around it. But before Goldie could congratulate himself, he was thrown across the room by Simon, who had charged at him. Goldie ran as fast as he could towards Simon. But just before he reached him, Goldie jumped over Simon and continued running.

He ran over to the huge metal pole, which was now lying across the control consol, crushing it. Goldie grabbed it, and threw it at Simon. It hit him, and sent him rolling into the wall behind him. Goldie quickly came up with a plan. He walked in front of the nearest lift, pressed the button the open the doors, and stayed there.

Simon saw Goldie standing there. He waited a minute, regaining his energy, and then charged at him! Goldie was surprised at how fast he was running. Just as Simon dived towards him, Goldie ducked, and Simon dived straight into the lift.

The doors closed behind him, and the lift began descending down to a lower floor. Goldie ran over to the metal pole. He then ran back towards the lift and threw the pole as hard as he could at the section of the wall just above the lift. It smashed through the wall and through the cable as well.

Without the cable to hold it up, the lift plummeted down to the bottom of the lift shaft. Goldie walked over to one of the other lifts and went down to the next floor below. The doors opened and he saw Jack running very quickly towards him, being chased by the other man from earlier.

“Help!” Jack shouted over to Goldie, as soon as he saw him inside the lift.

Goldie took several steps forward, out of the lift.

“Get out of this building,” he said quietly to Jack as he ran past him and into the lift.

The other man was still running towards them, so Goldie took another few steps forward and stretched his arm out in front of him.

“Halt!” he shouted to the man.

The man did as such. He was well and truly speechless to see a soft toy moving and talking to him. After a minute of not moving an inch, the man slowly backed away from Goldie, all the way back to the other end of the corridor and ran away.

Goldie smiled to himself. He walked slowly down the corridor, looking for a fire alarm. He was planning to get everyone out of the building, and then destroy it so Simon couldn’t use it again. But before he could, he heard the lift doors opening behind him, so he turned around to see who it was. It was Jack.

“I’ve just remembered something!” Jack said, desperately.
“What is it?” Goldie asked.
“Mr Cow once mentioned that if the control consol got destroyed, then this whole building would be blown up!”

Goldie was trying to decide if that was a bad thing or not. He wanted to destroy the building, but he wanted to do it in his own way. He had no idea what damaged the explosion would do to the buildings and people around it.

“How much time do we have?” Goldie asked Jack.
“I don’t know, he never said,” Jack replied.
“Do even know where the bomb is?”
“Afraid not.”

Goldie really didn’t know what to do. After a few seconds, he came up with an idea. He walked over to the nearest lift, got in, and pressed the button for the basement.

“Do you want me to help?” Jack asked, just as the doors to the lift closed.

Jack took that as a no, and began making his way out of the building. Goldie, meanwhile, had arrived at the basement of the building, and began to look around for the generator that powers the building. He was hoping that the bomb’s timer would be powered by the generator, and not by a battery. Unless it was connected to the mains, that is.

After a while of searching, Goldie decided that it was probably connected to the mains. He then searched around for a plug, which he found pretty easily. He put his hand over it, and concentrated. He began absorbing all the electricity out of it. He was trying as hard as hard as he could to suck out the electricity from the entire mains system.

Surging with power, Goldie finally stopped. He’d been taking all the electricity out of the mains for a few minutes, and the bomb hadn’t gone off. This was good, Goldie felt. But as long as he stopped taking the electricity, the bomb would still be getting power. So Goldie came up with an idea.

He placed his hands on the metal wall of the basement, and released an enormous amount of his electricity. It passed through all the metal in the room, so powerful it was jumping from object to object. It travelled throughout the entire building, passing through every metal object, shorting out any electronics it came into contact with.

Rather quickly, the electricity reached the bomb, and fried its circuits. After a few seconds had passed, Goldie decided that the bomb was probably destroyed, and he absorbed all the electricity back into him again.

Suddenly, he heard screaming from outside the building. Goldie rushed back into the lift, and pressed the button for the ground floor. He wondered what everyone was screaming about, and if he could get to the surface to stop whatever it was in time.

The lift doors opened and Goldie rushed out past several other people also rushing outside, to see what the commotion was all about. When he got outside, he saw that everyone was looking up. Goldie did the same, and saw a plane falling straight down from the sky!

Will Goldie save the day? Fine out next time!

I don't know. Maybe I'm selfish? I should see someone about that.

Anywho, did you like the story.  smile
