Re: Links to Member-created Websites

Wait... What constitutes as a site that is well-moderated? How would they have to show you, so they can link it here?

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

One thing-Shouldn't Minecraft Servers be closed unless they're well moderated? Because most servers get many swears, I'm not sure it'd be safe.

That's true, anything external where anyone can change content shouldn't be permitted...

But servers like Creepercraft don't cuss. We have strict rules, and banning will result. So what if the ST doesn't believe us? How can they be sure that we enforce the rules? I just know we don't cuss, but there is no way of making sure the ST knows that.

I'm talking about all minecraft servers-If there's sites that have a chance that swearing might happen, and it's not heavily moderated, kids shouldn't be able to go there. I think that Minecraft Servers should be permitted, but having only ones that are heavily moderated and have some sort of filter to take out bad words (Maybe bukkit?).

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

Some other web sites that I've visited (especially ones run by the government  smile  ) have a feature that when you click on an off-site link you get a pop-up saying "this is an off-site link and we're not responsible for its content" (only in lawyerese); you might consider doing that (either instead of or in addition to banning forum links).

As long as there is no way for your visitors to add inappropriate stuff...and the content you add is appropriate, it should be fine  smile

Does the same apply if the site has a forum for a few people (just the development team) and only I can activate accounts?

This ^^^
or if all comments (like on a blog or something) must be ran through me?

Are blogs allowed? I have one. Comments aren't allowed on it (since it isn't a feature of this somehow).

It`s a shame that it came to this, why do the people who attack those sites do this? Scratch and all of its related sites should be nice and peaceful.  big_smile

I know right? But that doesn't happen. Once I ventured in some "Scratch" chatroom where they didn't talk about Scratch at all, and in fact seemed to hate it. Unfriendly, not very safe, full of swearing and discussion of inappropriate subjects, ouch.  yikes  But those are normally poorly moderated sites that are intended for adults so kids shouldn't be able to use them.

How about we only allow sites that have strictly enforced rules and good moderating filters? Let's say, the kind that blocks alternate spellings of cuss words, etc.? And maybe sites intended for children to use or have a friendly/safe environment? Of course there will still be the trollig and spamming problem, but it isn't good to block EVERY third-party Scratch forum and blog.

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

I have a site thats been up for about 2 or 3 months. It desperatly needs members. At the moment, the only admins are me and my brother, plus we got a mod, Legorules101, but until we get to 25+ users thats enough. The site is really clean (Swearing is punishable by permaban) but it's punbb and therefore, not allowed yet. I need permission. Could a mod look the site over?

Are we allowed to post sites without forums, chats or any way for anyone to edit them or post on them?

+1. Great idea. This chat site called Xat has something like that, when some1 gives u a link it gives u a phishing/spam warning before u enter the site. you could do that.

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

On behalf of the Block Library, I would like to ask for an exception to welcometoyourlocalblocklibrary.weebly.com. We use this site to host images for the site (well, it will should actually show up no matter which it's from. XD)
On behalf of myself, could the Weebly site I use for my images be unblocked? scimonsterfromscratch.weebly.com.
Pecola1 also uses Weebly for his images, and his site is pecola1sscratchexperience.weebly.com.

You're allowed to tell people about sites on comments... Are you allowed to post a project about a website you made?
