Will Scratch 2.0 be able to control WeDo motors and read input from WeDo sensors?
I have looked through a lot of posts on the forums and the Scratch Team blog and the only answer to this question I saw was posted a while ago by another scratcher, so I was wondering if I could get a more definitive answer from the Scratch Team before I buy a WeDo USB hub and sensors for my kids.
Some follow-up questions:
Will WeDo support only work in the downloable stand-alone version of Scratch 2.0?
Will Scratch 2.0 be able to control more than one motor?
Thanks for the information.

Even if it doesn't, you could use 1.4 for that.

Yep, 2.0 will work. You'll need to download and install a helper application though, but it should be easy. Should work for online and offline versions. As to more than one motor - not sure, but at this point I shouldn't promise it.

I do not know but what is WeDo?
Lego WeDo
you may also be interested in Lego Mindstorms NXT which is for more advanced robots.

for Scratch to work with this, you need the Enchanting mod
http://enchanting.robotclub.ab.ca/tiki-index.php
and you may wish to "vote up" the suggestion to include this in Scratch 2.0:

For a more direct answer to the original question wether 2.0 will work with WeDo, I found this on the ScratchEd board:
http://scratched.media.mit.edu/discussions/scratch-20/remote-sensor-protocol
...where Scratch team member (?) John Maloney answers that:
"In the long term, I hope to have something similar to the remote sensor protocol. However, I can't promise that it will be available in the first release of Scratch 2.0 since there are some many other things that must be done."
