No    It stands for Advanced Placement.

This year will be my first time taking an AP.

But for all other schools it means your doing well.

Yep! Well, I don't know any schools around my area that do extra-curricular and AP lessons... In year 9, we choose what subjects we want to focus more on anyways, which is kinda similair    we do have extra curricular activities, but they don't happen within lesson time, and anyone can join them within the target audience :L
