Dreaded Freezing

I have a Mac, and whenever I see a project that have sound on them, it freezes and buzzes and gives me the dreaded rainbow wheelie of death. Also, when I try to write comments, the comment will freeze as well and my keyboard has no effect on Scratch. It hasn't been happening on any other websites and my computer is only a few years old.

Re: Dreaded Freezing

Sounds like it's related to your computer, not Scratch. Especially the part about the comments, which shouldn't be happening.

Hmm... I think you might be overloading the RAM. Try closing all other applications before running Scratch. If that doesn't work, try removing Scratch and download it again.

That's really unusual, and it's really hard to diagnose without seeing the computer itself...

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Dreaded Freezing

It seems to be your project is starting to go over the comfortable size of 10MB, all you need to do is delete or adapt some unnesscary scripts or remove some large music and find some smaller sized tunes. If you're still finding problems - ask a member of the Scratch Team by commenting or sending them an e-mail of what happened.

My first impression was that wisegirl4eva was actually talking about the Scratch website. Is that the case?

http://i52.tinypic.com/5es7t0.png I know what you're thinking! "Neptune! Get rid of those filthy advertisements and give us back the Zarathustra siggy, you horrible person!" Well, don't worry about it, the Zara siggy will be back soon, new and improved! ^^ Meanwhile, just do what the sig tells you to. >.>
