Why do we even need "Most Remixed?" I mean look at it right now, all 3 of them are coloring contests with cats. All 3 of them. We really have no use for this bar. Can we just get rid of it? Please?

That bar shows that the Scratch Team supports remixing.

Cats.
Where we color cats only to find out "HEY BRO I DECIDED THAT I'M CANCELLING THIS CONTEST ASDGAKDFHGUEHDFJGHAJKHEIR."

Yes, this.
But it's true that the projects are unworthy of being on the front page.
I just wish the scratch team will choose several out of the top 10 or 20 or so, ones like "level 1" (an old front paged project i think by maki-tak) where the remix was actually creative (add a level) and wasn't a coloring contest.

Scratch focuses heavily on remixing, so the bar is a good idea on paper, but in reality the projects that make it there are just... well, not frontpage worthy at all.
The worst part is, to many people it's just an easy way of getting frontpaged without putting in any effort, which is why we have so much remix spam

they should add a word filter so nothing with the words 'add yourself' or 'colouring contest' gets into top remixed unless it has over 100 lovits.gb

Sigh. This has been brought up so many times.
I think they should move it down.

I think they said somewhere that they like it because it helps get new users noticed and supports a community of avid remixers
I wish it had interesting stuff like engines though D:

Yeah well, I'm used to it. Now when I go on a different PC the normal Scratch looks weird and too basic

I know "Scimonster" didn't come with the dictionary. Did you add it?
Oh, and can I have that style?

Wow, the things people see with a simple picture
Sure you can! Beware it's not at all finished and I also suggest hosting the pictures on there yourself, since I might be moving mine off dropbox. Assuming you have Stylish:

This, especially the last part,

and this, except the part about love-its because popular enough users will just go "LOV IT SO IT GETS FORNT PAGE!!", and since they have such an influence over the kiddos that remix their projects, they probably will love-it. It could even get Top Loved, clogging the front page even worse.
And that makes me think, how would the remixers react to this? If we block them they would clog the front page in other ways if they're organized enough.

The last bit is a good point. But I think the real concept behind opposing this decision should be that it wouldn't be fair to sweep away a row of projects from one day to the next. That said I do agree with what has been proposed in the first post.
But still remember you can move the remixed row down (or even hide it!) and the top-loved or viewed up, with Stylish. That's what I did with mine.
