For two reasons I don't see it happening:
1.) You'd need a big team, as the game would be big, and barely any collabs get many people.
2.) It'd take a long time to make, and the collab would die.
If you could somehow avoid these two problems, and make a good sims game, it'd be awesome. I think you should try.

Well, I'm just saying that because it's true. I mean, let's be realistic, any good Scratch sims game would be hard to make. I wasn't trying to discourage him, I was telling him he should try to get a collaboration.
And to flame, thanks for the comment. Read my reply.

finally! someone who has faith in me! everyone hated my test thing, no one understood that it wasn't a demo, JUST a boring test. I'll see if anyone else is not busy. And don't worry, my rayman game is still in development so I probably won't start on Sims for about a week anyways. Epic demo: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Borrego6165/2022761

flamekyle just make a tiny version of without glitches
and a limited number of things to do.
Improve or remix a sequel later...

Will take very long to make if you want it to be as good as the real one. Good idea though. (nearly) everyone likes sims. Go ahead, just try it.

P.S. I love the name!

Good Idea! I can just imagine right now making a simple version, but then taking it up
a step and adding more and more! Anyone want to help me make a Sims 3 game?
I don't care if your better with illistrations or with controls. I'm good at both.
So will anyone be willing to reply and help me with the Scratch project?

It would take a lot of work... but I'm sure it would be pretty awesome if we had some good programmers/artists/composers/etc.

You could always do it isometrically. That will be how my SimScratch project will be...

/*I could help you with graphics/design.
Personally, I believe that good, clear graphics is the key to addictive game design.
There are just too many games out there with such elegant code and such excruciatingly bad sprite costumes.*/

LIFE has beaten people to it, and currently has the most features, including create a person. However, what Death_Wish said was right. You do need a big team and some experience. Lack that, and you wont go far.

When will it be completed?

LIFE? Not for a while. I am just about finishing up with create a person.

An estimate? e.g. early 2012, mid-2012, late 2012?
How graphically complex will it be?
Am looking forward to this simulator coming out.
And...
How will it should be done? (e.g. isometric, overhead, side-scrolling)
And with what style? (e.g. fully 3d, animated, cartoonish)
Level of complexity? (e.g. full life simulation with family sims, cities; 'Sims Social' - type with fixed house and land; exploration - type with lives and a fixed target of points)

I like the idea! Bird's eye view would probably be the best view. It would be ALOT of coding, though, but I'm sure you can make it work
