Scratch 2.0 in 2010

Last year, early on, there was some talk of Scratch 2.0 being released in late 2010 or early 2011.

Hmmmmmmmm....

In Lightnin's blog, I'm seeing lots of "How might this work?" and nearly none of "This is what is done, this is what is left to be done..."

Hmmmmmmmm....

So what is done? Its getting close to the end of 2011.  hmm

Check the Wiki. It says possibly 2012, as put in by AndresMH.

Yeah, most likely we'll have it on 2012.

Re: Scratch 2.0 in 2010

If you look at what there is released ( Experimental Viewer, v27 Scratch Project Viewer ) and put them together and add Saving and Loading we have Scratch 2.0 . So I'd say they are pretty far.

Actually, they also need a paint editor, sound editor, draggable sprites, clickable reporters & booleans, right-click menu, sharing, mesh, the different languages, and more. Seems we're not so close after all. ;P

A notice on the Scratch Facebook page also pushes the release date to 2012. We are probably not getting Scratch 2.0 anytime soon since a lot of things are being rebuilt from scratch (no pun intended  tongue ).

True, but in the general picture that's all.  wink

I think Lightnin doesn't know when its coming it, and maybe he is trying to push the release date so they can put as many features in it as they can.
