[info] Why NOT to ask to be a scratcher!

Do NOT ask to be a scratcher!
=====================================================================================

The New Scratcher status is there for a reason!  Asking to be upgraded to a Scratcher will just make you seem desperate!  The New Scratcher status didn't always exist, you will meet people who haven't actually been a New Scratcher (People from 2007 and 2008 (I think).  Requesting to have it removed will come at no advantage to you.

Becoming a scratcher quickly is as easy as being active.  Posting a lot of good quality projects, commenting on peoples projects, posting on the forums.  Remember though, it is also the quality of the posts/comments.  Posting spam will not get you a Scratcher status, but giving feedback will!

Remember, being a friendly person will not only gain you a Scratcher status, but popularity as well!  smile

Good helpful tips. What is your other account on scratch?

Re: [info] Why NOT to ask to be a scratcher!

you need to give them really good advice and convince them to look at projects and download Scratch and make your own projects but you need to tell them to ask a parent/guardian first before downloading tell the new scratchers to meet some of the awesome project creators like Swifty2, Astro947, SpriteMaster etc i like scratch because you get to make cool stuff about video games, animations, etc it is awesome to use scratch because you get to make your own scratch projects that is why i enjoy scratch so much and tell new scratchers there is Collab Camps and stuff like that and that is how you introduce new scratchers to scratch if they forget the site name it is www.scratch.mit.edu

What makes you think I have another account?  I have simply reads lots of 'Make me a scratcher!' threads, and thought this might help decrease them.  hmm   wink

Anyway, I am trying to increase what the original post says, making it neater, and gives more eye-candy for the new scratchers, however being a new scratcher and all they don't let me edit, so I am simply working on improving it now, and updating when I gain scratcher status.  wink

Thanks to all the feedback, and sorry that I haven't checked around recently...

Re: [info] Why NOT to ask to be a scratcher!

DO NOT ask to be a scratcher!
The New Scratcher status is not to be removed when you request.  The rule is in place to prevent spammers and trolls.  Requesting to have your New Scratcher status to be removed will just result in denial, other than extremely special circumstances, which you should press this link.  Remember, only extremely special circumstances.  Onto how to become a Scratcher quickly:
- Scratcher status is awarded for being a polite, avid (active) user.  Posting lots of comments, projects and replying to threads a lot (Creating own threads as well), without abusing the Scratch TOU (Terms Of Use).  If you are incredibly active, but you are impolite, this will not result in the New Scratcher status being removed.  In fact, there's more of a chance you will be banned!  wink

I ask to be a Scratcher because I have been registered for almost 8 months, and I am very active on both the main site and forums!

Re: [info] Why NOT to ask to be a scratcher!

I think that that is very good advice and even though you have been a newscratcher for 8 months means nothing.  for example I posted 5 projects on the day I started scratching and in return I became a scratcher on the first day I started. So dont complain just work
