Do you really need to change the Scratch logo for 4th July?

If Scratch is international surely it can be quite offending, to some, changing the Scratch logo for American Independence Day.

There is a logo contest for Scratch - for any holiday (of any country) people can modify the Scratch logo and submit it. If it is a good logo, it will be substituted for the normal Scratch logo. See more: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=1366

I understand your point but the logo contest is for anyone to submit there own holiday they celebrate (not everyone has to celebrate it) and then explain why

I don't see how anyone would really be offended, considering MIT is in the United States. I'm not offended in the least of other nations' holidays and I think celebrating the founding/independance of a country is great!
