re sprite instead of backgroun

created a backgrond, but realised done it as sprite, not on stage.  How do i copy the sprite to the stage-backgrounds area

You can go under the costumes tab of the sprite and drag the costume to where it says "stage" in the sprites box, just like you would drag scripts. Go ahead and drag the scripts, too.
