Oh boy, I'm excited for Sonic Generations! I have a problem, though... Which should I do first? Classic Sonic or Modern Sonic? This is also a discussion forum for Sonic Generations.
YAY, 250TH POST!

I'm going to start with Classic. Y'know, cause he came first.
And I'm sure you'll decide when you get the game.

You're forced to play as both of them, Act 1 being Classic, Act 2 being Modern. Plus, once you complete the game, you can play Classic Sonic in Modern Sonic's levels and vice versa.

Actually, all gaming websites said so, especially Sonic Retro. It was all found in the Sonic Generations Demo when Sonic Retro hacked it and found loads of goodies, including the full level list; a Modern Knuckles model; the Modern Sonic Green Hill level; a production mode version; the playability of Modern Sonic in Classic Sonic's level and vice versa (which works really well, actually); Level Music ripped; concept art for Rooftop Run and Seaside Hill and a sheet which has pictures of all the power ups in the game, including all the elemental shields from Sonic 3, 2 Wisp powerups for Planet Wisp, Speedshoes etc., it even had an icon of the seven Chaos Emeralds. Super Sonic is confirmed.
Oh, and not found in the demo: Chemical Plant pictures have been uploaded via Facebook by SEGA. It also included the Sonic CD Stardust Speedway Metal Sonic boss (I LOVE THAT BOSS)
Here is the level AND boss list for the PS3/360 versions:
CLASSIC ERA
Green Hill Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog)
Chemical Plant Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 2)
Sky Sanctuary Zone (Sonic the Hedeghog 3 & Knuckles)
DREAMCAST & HEROES ERA
Speed Highway (Sonic Adventure)
City Escape (Sonic Adventure 2)
Seaside Hill (Sonic Heroes)
MODERN ERA
Crisis City (Sonic the Hedgehog 06)
Spagonia, Rooftop Run (Sonic Unleashed)
Planet Wisp (Sonic Colours)
DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT
Casino Night Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 2)
BOSS FIGHTS
Metal Sonic (Sonic CD, Stardust Speedway)
Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic Adventure 2)
Silver the Hedgehog (HOW BOUT THIS/Sonic the Hedgehog 06)
"Death Egg" (whatever that means.../Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles)
Perfect Chaos (Sonic Adventure)
Egg Dragoon (Sonic Unleashed)
Final Boss: "Time Eater"
That's what they found. I have a ton of pictures if you want them.

Sounds epic! But, sadly 'most' people don't have a 3DS/PS3/Xbox360

Yes they do. The 3DS has poor sales at the minute, the definite version that will sell loads is the HD versions.

Is it really going to be called that?

Yes. Well, that's what the file is called in the hacked demo.
I really hope it's not called that. It sounds incredibly not like a final boss.

I know, Time Eater is a dull name. I want the Final Boss to be Perfect Chaos, Final Hazard, Metal Overlord, Solaris, and Dark Gaia combined. If so then this will be fun.
Offline
Time Eater is probably a beta name, but then again, look at some Sonic 2 zone names (such as Hill Top Zone).

The only evidence supporting your claim is the thing where it says you can play as "Both".
