My scratch story isn't very interesting. But her it is anyway.
One night, I was playing around with things on the computer. (Command prompt and other things like that) My dad wanted me to learn how to use something simpler. So, he googled programming languages for children. There where a lot of things there and scratch was there too.
That's my scratch story.

A friend of mine that I met over a summer camp (Megaboy) told me about Scratch. At first I was skeptical, but then I checked it out, made a account and my first few projects were born (which were horrible...

Mines not very good:
One day I went to class and our teacher told us to go google 'scratch download' and we could make games so I almost immediately disregarded the computer science lesson he was giving and went to make my own game. This was probably about 4 months ago, but I just recently started to work on a game cuz school sucks.

Well, I used to LOVE to read Popular Science, especially the DIY (do-It-Yourself). Well, I saw in an old issue that there was designing your own stuff. Naturally, I asummed you would be using the computer (duh, it's Pop Sci). I saw that they had something about programming in the ocrner. They said Scratch is very simple, so I tried it, it seemed to hard,I saw they recommended something simpler (it was you have your picture that they make into a game) so I went back to Scratch, and, well, here I am
I found it the same way!!!!!!

This topic is not stickied anymore, because it isn't being used frequently anymore.
But, of course, If you still want to share something that has to do with the subject, feel free to post!
Thank you and... Scratch on!

I was playing around with a computer at school and I found scratch. After playing with it for a while I stopped. Then I went to a science thing and they showed us how to download scratch and create accounts. I downloaded scratch. Then months later, I made an account. I've been on here for a few weeks

I found out Scratch at school. My friends were talking about it at lunch. So I asked them what it is. They told me the website and I downloaded it. I tried laying the blocks without connecting them. Later I figured that out. It wasn't that hard learn.

My bro kept going on here, so I made an account to bug him on the forums, and then after a while, I got more involved with the community instead of just playing text based games.

I was looking up TWF images and found a TWF project and got to the site. Originally my aunt was helping me figuring out how to make games the she must've found scratch and downloaded it looked too confusing back then. So I deleted it. About a year later I was looking for it but couldn't find out where she downloaded it so I gave up. Then later I was looking up TWF images and found a TWF project on scratch. The End.

Well... In computer class, we were working on Visual Basic, and my teacher mentioned something to me about this new, free, easy to use programming language called Scratch! I was interested in it and, the next day, I made a program based on one of my friend's programs. I didn't download it, but I just looked at it and figured it out! It was easy, fun, and self-taught... Thank you Scratch!

I came across it accidentally. I was bored, and on google, and I was typing in random letters. I typed in Scra. Then a list came up with some search terms that I could mean, and as luck will have it, Scratch was top of the list. I was curious and so I clicked on it. Then came up a list of options. Weeks before I had been looking for an easy programming language, but I gave up. And when I saw it say:
Scratch | Home | imagine, program, share
Scratch: a programming language for everyone. Create interactive stories, games, music and art - and share them online.
... I got really excited and clicked on it, that's how I discovered Scratch.

I was at school, and bored, and right next to a computer. I saw a cat, and clicked it. I had a little bit of fun. I got very sick soon after. I had nothing to do. So, I googled Scratch to see if I could get it. I got it, started playing with it, and have been unable to stop since. Scratch is one of the most fun things I have ever tried!
thats basically what happened to me too!
