Well, I wanted to make games and my dad said it would take about a year to learn how to make games but than he googled "computer programming for kids" and Scratch came up. He downloaded it for me, and together we made a project (but for some reason I didn't share i until about 3 weeks later). My first shared project is Dodgeballthe1: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/AAAAAwinnerGLT/249802. I am a kinda-new Scratcher–-I've only been on for less than 2 months.

My friend told me about it and he showed me a project he made about a year ago.
I was pretty amazed; Scratch was the first programming system I ever knew. I tried Scratch that night and liked it. So of course, I started making projects, and getting more experienced. Now I spend hours and hours on Scratch each weekend. Scratch got me hooked on programming and inspired me to run Google searches for other programming applications. However, I still like Scratch best though I find it frustrating sometimes with how limited it sometimes is.

I sort of encountered Scratch by accident. We had a supply lesson but the teacher forgot to leave any work. The supply teacher then told us to make an animation on scratch, only explaining the very basic functions. While i was messing about on it I found some of the instructions and realized it could be used for games, I made a really basic game which had mario with a gun shooting bowser (its never been uploaded) and i got bonus marks for it. That night i went looking for it and found out it was free. I love scratch. I started out basic but now i can do some more advanced stuff like program in a CPU (check out the smash bros project under djm111) The good thing about it is, you can just pick it up and do all kinds of stuff with it, without needing any technical knowledge

MY SCRATCH STORY
I have always been into computers, gaming, and more recently, game making. I started 2 years ago with game maker, while making hard-to-make, really simple things, and after a while, I had to find a new one. Others were too complicated/needed to be bought. I was texting my friend and he told be once about scratch and i checked it out, that's what I wanted all along. An easy game maker making cool, complex games.

Well, I was looking for an animation program. My friends suggested some, but you either had to buy them or they were too complicated. One of my friends forced me to look at some of her Scratch projects, and I got interested. That's about it, but....
Scratch on!

Well, I was looking at the Nitrome Blog, and they said that some users on the Nitrome games made some games based off of their game. I clicked on it and thats how I got here.

Well... I really don't remember how I found Scratch. One day, I was looking for games, because I was bored. I found a project called "Super Games" so I entered it. I played it and I really loved it. I looked at who created it, and it was a person like you and me!! I said... and now what?? I signed in and downloaded Scratch. My first project is called "Horror movie?" but id doesn't work online. Well... Then I forgot scratch for 3 months. I was looking for something to do in my desktop, and I found Scratch. I started to play again, and i created "Super Ballerina Show". Then, I started to do better and better projects. I really love Scratch. Maybe now I'm not a SUPER Scratcher, 'cause I have to learn more things about scratch, but I really love my projects... I agree with Joeyman: I am very proud to say...
SCRATCH ON!

i was searching how to draw wolves and a scratch project had a tutorial on it.
I then signed up and downloaded because i thought it was cool.
I don't really know why because i do quite well in visual c++(hl2 modding) and visual basic
It's easier and i think i can cut simle game making times in half. Scratch does have its limits in the 3d possibilities though
