Speech recognition

I'm testing speech recognition.  Put your test here, too!

By the way this is only for windows computers, so if you don't have one you cannot use this.

Re: Speech recognition

What Speech Recognition?
EDIT: I think I found it.
How do I make it work?
I only got it to turn off by talking, and that worked only 1 time.  tongue

Well, it's simple. After going all the way through the tutorial, you can just talk. I'm doing that now.  But, make sure you know the commands (and a few secret ones, too!) before you start, or else you are going to have a hard time.

It takes too much time to get from place to place.

Re: Speech recognition

For me speech recognition works quite well . In fact I'm using it right now. I'm surprised at how well it works. I wonder if I can play minecraft this way...

EDIT: I've even figured out how to click links with speech recognition.

Re: Speech recognition

To all of you who can't use speech recognition, here's how:

1. Make sure that you have a Windows Vista or Windows 7.
2. Open the start menu.
3. Type in 'Windows Speech Recognition' in the bar on the bottom of the Start Menu.
4. Click on 'Windows Speech Recognition'.
5. Do what it tells you.
6. Press F1.
7. Search for 'Control your computer without a keyboard or mouse'.
8. If you do not have the help page, click on the result that best fits the search.
9. Read through it and click on the links at the bottom.
10. Say 'Start listening' and say 'help'.
11. If something happens, great.  If nothing happens, it's okay.  Just deal with it.

Say "type: (spell out word or phrase)"

It takes practice. <-- Typed in one command.

Re: Speech recognition

You just have to figure it out.  It's easy once you use it for 3 days without touching the keyboard or mouse. I don't use my keyboard at all now (except when I have to, like typing on scratch and useing firefox).
